Continue to the top of the hill and you will see the picturesque white Christ Church. On the outside of the building you will see a plaque which reads First Service held Sunday November 30th 1924. In the nave are stained glass windows in memory of the Fairbairn, Ridley and Austin families and in the entrance porch is a window given by George Lines, designed by his son Benedict and crafted by Andrew Ferguson.
The first Church of England services in Skipton were held in 1910 in the Mechanics Hall. In 1913 a timber church building was brought from Happy Valley to a block of land given by Mrs. Charles Fairbairn.
