If you look carefully at this church you may discern the original old bluestone Methodist Chapel (picture below) at the northern end. It was built in 1882. As the congregation grew the building was twice enlarged; in 1897 when the size doubled and in 1929 when the sacristy was added and the church was remodelled in the Spanish Mission style. In 1966 further additions were made when a new wing was added to the west. The form of original bluestone chapel is still discernible in the northern aspect..
